Tomorrow, Sunday 31 October, the 19th edition of the Genoa Science Festival continues, a review in a hybrid format that signals a return to being together and experiencing science firsthand, with an important program and a renewed online schedule. On the penultimate day of the festival, thirteen special conferences and events are scheduled: When Scientific Publishing is Art (10 a.m.), Ambienti in Ascolto (10:30 a.m.), Mathematics Bestari (10.30 a.m.), Armed with Science (3 p.m.), Journey Cell on Biomaterials (3pm), Observing the Universe (3pm), Eskatoon Map (3.30pm), G-ray buster: Searching for Structure Radiation (5.30pm), Nanoworld from Virus to Transistor (5.30pm), Pioneers of the Age Neolithic Europe (6pm), Maps of Love in the Brain (6pm), Alchemy (7pm), Life Is Simple (9pm), From Celestial Miniatures to `Modern Astronomy (9.30pm). Enthusiasts and Families Program
The fourteen appointments on Sunday, October 31 cover various disciplines, including neuroscience, astronomy, nanotechnology, medicine, anthropology, and more. 6 p.m. Ruth Feldman, Professor of Social Neuroscience of Development at the Interdisciplinary Center, with Donatella Marazzetti, whom Class magazine ranks among the 10 most important psychiatrists in Italy, in Maps of Love in the Brain at the Sala del Maggior Consiglio of Palazzo Ducale (also in Live broadcast), they talk about emotions in a meeting that is part of the Travel Emotions project organized by Braincircle Italia. Marking the seven hundredth anniversary of Dante’s death, at 9:30 p.m. in the Sala delle Grida of Palazzo della Borsa (also in flow), with from celestial miniatures to modern astronomy, we embark on an imaginative journey into the Divine Comedy, led by a descendant of Dante, astronomer Sperello di Serego Alighieri, and Andrea Mazucci, Dante professor of philology at the Federico II University of Naples.
Johnjoe McFadden, a professor of molecular genetics at the University of Surrey and an expert in tuberculosis and meningitis, is the protagonist of 6 p.m. Life is simple at the Sala del Maggior Consiglio of the Doge’s Palace (also in the stream). In the lecture magistralis at 5.30 pm in the library of the University of Genoa (also in flow), the nanomondo from viruses to transistors, chemist Gianfranco Pacioni presents his latest book on the invisible world, which has revolutionized technology, as well as in our daily lives.
With Albert Amerman, Professor of Anthropology at Colgate University, Telmo Bivani, Professor of Biology Department at the University of Padua, and Joao Zilhau, Professor and Researcher at the University of Barcelona, we discover Neolithic pioneers, their customs, customs and ways of navigation in the Mediterranean at the Pioneers of the Age meeting Neolithic in Europe at 6 pm at Sala delle Grida in Palazzo della Borsa (also in flow). Telmo Pivani is also the protagonist, at the age of 10 in the Sala del Maggior Consiglio of Palazzo Ducale (also streamed) with naturalist and science journalist Francesca Buoninconti and photographer Roberto Besana from When Scientific Publishing Is Art, a conversation in memory of famed journalist and scientist Pietro Greco. With Life Senator Elena Cattaneo, Professor of Pharmacology and Director of the Laboratory of Stem Cell Biology and Pharmacology for Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Milan, the ethical dimension of science was investigated at the Military di Scienza meeting at 3 p.m. at the Sala del Maggior Council of the Doge’s Palace (also streaming).
Fun Mathematics scheduled for Sunday, October 31 at the Science Fest, with Nicola Ciccoli, Professor of Engineering at the University of Perugia and actress Marinella Maricardi, who invite you to participate in Eschaton, a simulation game with strict mathematical rules, at the conference/show Map of Eschaton at 3.30pm in Sala delle Grida at Palazzo della Borsa (also in flow). With author and mathematics educator Paolo Alessandrini, we go on to discover “monsters and strange creatures” in the world of numbers at the 10.30 a.m. Mathematical Animal Show Conference, Sala del Minor Consiglio in Palazzo Ducale (also live). In the International Year of Sound 2020-2021, Martino Mocchi, Matteo Piricò and Silano Carlotta explore the possibilities of listening in phonemic map practices at the Ambienti meeting in Ascolto at 10.30 in the Historic Archives of Palazzo Ducale.
The conference Cell Journey on Biomaterials at the University of Genoa Library (also in flow), at 3 pm, will be attended by Giuseppe Gugliano, Bioengineer at Politecnico di Milano, Paola Petrini, Professor of the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Livia Visai, Professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Molecular Medicine at the University of Pavia. In a conversation between Marina Costa, owner of Project Cassiopeia, and Walter Riva, director of the Rigi Astronomical Observatory, the evolution of the relationship between man and the sky was assessed at the 3 p.m. Universe Observation Meeting at Historic. Ducale Palace Archives. In the auditorium of the Giacomo Doria Museum of Natural History at 5 p.m. With Martina Cardello, a researcher at IAPS-INAF in Rome, we discover the most energetic phenomena in the universe in the auditorium of the Giacomo Doria Museum of Natural History with G-ray buster: In Search of the Radiance of the Structure. At 7 p.m. on the Piazza delle Feste (also on stream), Christian Radin, Matek Lusine, and Mirella Dragomer explain how to tap into the bountiful cookbook of La chemistry’s culinary experiments.

The ticket office is active in Cortile Maggiore in Palazzo Ducale, but the public is encouraged to prefer the use of online and telephone e-commerce services. These are the ticket costs: full day €13, reduced €11, €9 very low, full standard entry €21, reduced €18, very low €12, bonus (with free reservations for the season ticket holder) €30; Children up to 5 years old do not pay. Standard subscriptions are valid for all days and all festival events and also include use of broadcast events. For online viewing, a live streaming subscription is available at a cost of €10. There are some free events scheduled. The school ticket, reserved for students participating in the school project (at a cost of €9), is equivalent to a standard entry and thus allows you to enjoy the entire festival, both face-to-face and online. Reservations (at a cost of €0.50) are highly recommended for face-to-face events for the general public, while it is mandatory (and free) for classes.
