This measure was approved during a meeting chaired by the Minister of Health, Marciano Gómez, with the presence of officials from the areas of planning, public health, primary care, hospitals and pharmacy. The aim of this meeting was to analyze the situation in the Valencian Community and plan a meeting next Tuesday, August 20, between the Ministry of Health and the autonomous communities.
During the meeting, the main conclusion drawn from the study conducted by public health technicians was referred to, which is that “we are facing a natural context from an epidemiological point of view,” as the minister stressed.
Marciano Gomez explained that it was agreed to “increase vaccine delivery points to improve citizens’ access to it, because vaccination, along with epidemiological surveillance, are the two main pillars to strengthen disease prevention.”
Currently, he is in Sovereign Investment ProgramAnd the provincial information and prevention centers, where the vaccine is given MBOX Through this initiative, the Ministry of Health is increasing vaccination points in preventive medicine services in all hospitals in the Valencian Community.
Through the vaccination circle promoted by the Ministry, people belonging to risk groups will be able to go to their health center and request an appointment for vaccination at their reference hospital.
The risk groups for which vaccination is recommended are, on the one hand, people who engage in risky sexual practices, especially, but not exclusively, men who have sex with men. On the other hand, people at risk due to their profession, i.e. those working in specialized consultations, laboratory staff or staff responsible for disinfecting surfaces in specific risk areas. In addition to all direct contacts who have not transmitted the disease, mainly, people at risk of serious illness and complications and health and laboratory workers exposed to the disease.
vaccination
At the beginning of July, the Ministry of Health anticipated the current situation by sending an SMS to people undergoing preventive treatment recommending vaccination. Thanks to this, an increase in the vaccination rate in the Valencian Community has been verified.
Since the first international emergency declared by the World Health Organization in July 2022, nearly 1,600 people in the Valencian Community have been protected by vaccination.
