Astrobagnolis will resume its activities after the Christmas break and next Sunday will present the first scientific afternoon session of 2024.
Industrial engineer, PhD in Computer Science and Professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Alicia Casals will be the speaker at this first talk of the year, titled “Challenges of Robotics in Space”. Alicia Casals was a professor at UPC and professor of architecture and computer technology in the Department of Systems Engineering, Automation and Industrial Informatics. On the other hand, she also worked on intelligent robots with medical applications as Director of the Robotics Program at the Bioengineering Institute of Catalonia and published projects and prototypes for robotic systems for assistance to disabled people and surgical interventions.
Next Saturday afternoon, he will bring his knowledge to Banyoles to talk about applying robotics in space and the challenges involved in doing so. As always, the lecture will take place at 7 p.m., but this time, as has already happened on several occasions this year, it will be held at the Banyoles Excursion Center, and not at the Darder Museum.
This weekend will be the fourth Science Afternoon session this year. So far, sessions have covered blockchain technology, catalysis, oil and water in the St. Miquel Valley.
