Foods to prevent colds

Unfortunately, coinciding with the first day of the year comes influenza and severe colds. How can we prevent them? Well, by incorporating certain foods into the diet, for example, which help strengthen the immune system.

Citrus fruits are good allies in preventing colds. Fruits, such as oranges, tangerines or lemons, help prevent colds thanks to the contribution of vitamin C. In the same way vegetables such as red peppers achieve this, which at the same time help fight infections. Among the vegetable group, spinach becomes your best friend for maintaining a healthy immune system. Vitamin C, beta-carotene and antioxidants play a prominent role in this process.

If we talk about spices, ginger must be called in the first place. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, ginger can relieve cold symptoms and help strengthen the immune system. Secondly, there is garlic which, in addition to its antibacterial and antiviral properties, also shortens the duration of the common cold.

Other foods that perform this function, i.e. preventing colds, include yogurt, red fruits and honey. All the mentioned products combined with good habits such as sleeping the necessary hours, good hydration and washing your hands regularly, can ultimately become your best defense against the common cold.
