It’s the first weekend of May, when bad weather gives way to sun again and Rome offers a calendar of interesting events for all tastes. On the first Sunday of the month, the date returns with free museums, it’s time to celebrate spring in the Botanical Garden, and then there’s the old markets, festivals, and events for those with a sweet tooth.

Free museums on Sunday, May 7
Sunday May 7, the first Sunday of the month, it will be possible for everyone to visit the various museums and galleries in the capital (and beyond) for free. Admission will be free for all, both in the Civic Museums and in some of the city’s archaeological areas such as the Circus Maximus and the Imperial Forums. Reservations are only required for groups. The monthly appointment with “Sundays in the Museum” at the State Museums of Lazio also returns on May 7.
