Etihad Airways has reinforced its commitment to the US market, increasing flights from John F. Kennedy Airport in New York from next November, following the launch of the new A350 aircraft and the expansion of its partnership with JetBlue.
The United States remains one of our key markets which is why New York and Chicago were among the first destinations served by the new Etihad Airways A350 – as confirmed by the airline’s CEO, Tony Douglas -. We are proud to continue to provide our guests with a first-class travel experience and to enhance connectivity through our growing partnership with JetBlue.”
In June, the new, sustainable A350 entered the fleet, which carries a unique livery in honor of the 50th anniversary of the UAE Federation and the union’s commitment to zero carbon emissions by 2050. Today the new aircraft operates two routes to the United States with flights from Abu Dhabi to Chicago O’Hare and New York John F. Kennedy.
Etihad Airways and JetBlue have been codeshare partners since 2014 and currently codeshare to 46 destinations in the Americas. JetBlue recently began codeshare on Etihad Airways flights from Abu Dhabi to Chicago and New York, to which Washington, D.C. will soon be added. As Etihad prepares to increase flights to JFK in November, the partners plan to add more destinations to their concept. The two companies are developing a frequent flyer partnership that will allow both TrueBlue travelers and Etihad Guest members to earn and redeem miles across both networks.
