Montlor is a professional dancer and was awarded the Ciutat d’Alcoi Prize for Culture in 2023. He has been at the head of the Compañía Nacional de Dansa for 23 years.
We already know the name of the herald of the Fira Modernista d’Alcoi 2024, it will be the prestigious dancer from Alcoy, Isaac Montllor Mira. He will write and read the proclamation that gives the starting point for this already unified event. The proclamation will be read on September 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Plaza de España.
He will be accompanied by the Municipal Corporation, the character of Gonzalo Cantú, represented by Alcoy actor Jordi Carbonell Talens, interspersed with performances by the Virginia Bollover Ballet and the Carrascal Dance Group.
The parade will then take place, which this year will extend through Sant Llorenc, Sant Francesc, Plaça de la Creu Roja, heading towards Sant Nicolau to end in Plaza de España.
Isaac Montlor received the Ciutat d’Alcoi Cultural Award for his career in 2023. He began his career in 2000 with Compañía Nacional de Danza 2 directed by Nacho Duato and Toni Faber. In 2019, Joaquín de Luz offered him the position of artistic coordinator of CND, a position he will hold until 2022, thus combining it with his role as principal guest dancer.
During his 23 years at the helm of the National Dance Company, he worked with great masters and teachers such as Irina Milovan, Pino Alosa, Stefan Favorin, Ivan Kramer, Aurora Bosch, Lázaro Carreño, Nanette Glušak, Konstantin Damyanov, or Africa Hernández, among others.
Throughout these years he has participated in numerous national and international dance recitals. Likewise, he has worked in several films such as “Hable con ella” by Pedro Almodóvar (2002), “Danse la Danse” by Alain Demmer (2010), and “Ixtab” by María Salgado (2016).
