The 19th edition of the Deltebre Dansa International Festival kicked off yesterday and will continue until the 21st. The theme of the event is ‘Hit de Floor. Shake the world!’. This year’s Deltebre Dansa training part involved 250 dancers from over 50 nationalities, including a large number from Australia. The competition once again highlights the importance of dance in changing everything, and this time they will have the opportunity to present new creative proposals.
It is a completely unified cultural initiative in the heart of the Ebro Delta, which projects the municipality at an international level and which attracts around 10,000 people each year. The festival consists of three stages: the training camp for professional dancers; the proposals for initiation into dance are increasingly popular; and the night dance and circus shows. Among the outstanding teachers are the Cuban Maura Morales, who will also present her own creation; Wim Vandekebus (Belgium) or Akram Khan (United Kingdom).
One of the novelties this year will be the collaboration between Deltebre Dansa and Eufinic, the visual and sound arts festival of Terres de l’Ebre, which for the first time coincides in dates.
