BBVA and Correus took a step in the development of the signed bilateral protocol in October 2022 by expanding the possibility of obtaining cash in all post offices, through the Correos Cash service, not only in all computerized offices in Spain, but also in the rural offices that Correus has throughout Territory, as the two companies stated in separate letters.
Currently, Correus has more than 2,389 rural offices throughout Spain, which are points served by rural postmen and provide postal and banking services to areas without computerized offices.
BBVA customers will be able to get cash by requesting it from the bank's app on the Correos Cash icon. At this stage, a QR code is generated through which funds can be withdrawn at any of the 2,388 computerized offices or at the 2,389 rural offices.
In addition, the entity is developing other Correos Cash services and, in the coming months, will provide its customers with more than 30,000 postmen of the public operator throughout Spain, of which nearly 6,000 are in rural areas, able to access cash more directly.
