Barcelona presents Barcelona Bridal & Fashion Awards II at BBFW

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) on Saturday night presented the II Barcelona Bridal and Fashion Awards, which reward excellence in bridal fashion, Fira de Barcelona said Sunday in a statement.

Pnina Tornai (USA) received Wedding Dress of the Year; Sophie et Voilà (Spain) was also recognized for the bridal collection, the Mans and Jenny Packham collections, the Yolancris photo campaign, and Vera Wang for her career.

American broadcaster Randy Viñoly moderated the event at Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc location, in front of more than 150 attendees including designers, award winners, finalists, jury members and professionals from the worlds of fashion, art and culture.

These are awards from the BBFW, organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the State Department of Business and Labor.

Chosen as the best wedding dress of the year, the Pnina Tournai dress “No. 5042” symbolizes a dream come true: it is decorated with 50,000 crystals that were hand-set over a period of 400 hours.

Sophie et Voilà won the Women's Wedding Dress Collection Award for its sophisticated and contemporary designs that go beyond bridal fashion, with attention to detail in tailoring and embroidery using traditional techniques.

As for the groom’s fashion, the Mans brand collection (from its founder and creative director, Jaime Alvarez) won first prize in its category, for originality and precision in craftsmanship.

The Red Carpet Collection category awarded the British brand Jenny Packham, for its style, craftsmanship, cosmopolitan attitude and corporate charm, and is a favorite of the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie and the Princess of Wales.

The award in the photo campaign went to the distinguished Yolancris for his film “Attitude”, for embodying the spirit of perfection, surprise and femininity in the 21st century.

The Honorary Career Award went to American fashion designer Vera Wang, for her contributions and achievements in the wedding dress industry, being one of the main references for pioneering fashion.

Pronovias has won the Barcelona Brand Award for the International Catalan Fashion Show during her career.

The awards for tradition, innovation and craftsmanship went to the Italian company Maison Signore and the English company Halfpenny, respectively, and Andrea Lallanza received the People's Choice Award for the company most remembered and voted for by the public in the 2023 parade.

The winners received artwork from Cual Estudio (Valencia), in line with Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week's mission to focus on local art and creativity.
