Rome, actor Paolo Calissano found dead at home

According to La Repubblica newspaper, the pills were in the actor’s room and scattered in the kitchen. Death is presumed to have been due to an accidental or voluntary drug overdose.

The legal problems of Calisano

In 2005, Calisano was at the center of a dramatic story: in his apartment, due to an overdose of cocaine, a woman named Ana Lucia Bandera died. The actress was arrested and sentenced to four years in prison for giving drugs. After his rehab process, Calissano ended up again in the news in 2008: he was involved in a car accident who was actually found positive for cocaine.

Who was Paolo Callesano? Descendant of a family of businessmen, Callesano was born in Genoa on February 18, 1967. After studying in Boston and the first experiences in picture novels, he made his debut in the cinema (“Palermo-Milan Route”) and on television, became known to the audience thanks to such series as “General Hospital” ” and “La dotorissa Gio”, “Linda il Brigadere” and above all thanks to the Italian soap “Fever”, in which he played the doctor Bruno de Carolis, and “Vento di ponente”, where he gave his face to the unscrupulous director Guido Mandelli.

In 2004 he participated in the second edition of “Celebrity Island”, but was forced to retire due to an injury. After judicial troubles, he returned to read on the Brancaccio theater in Rome in the musical “Step of a Dream”, 2007. His last appearance on TV was in 2018, in Rai1’s novel “Non dirlo al mio capo 2”.
