dBalears film critic Jorge Guirado interviewed actress Aida Folch, who was in Palma for the Atlántida Film Festival.
Aida Benitez Volch (Ríos, Peixe Camp, November 24, 1986) is an actress who began her film career as a teenager, working in El embujo de Shanghai (2002) by Fernando Trueba, chosen from among 3,000 teenagers who auditioned. A few months later she was selected to star in Los lunes al sol (2002) by Fernando León de Aranoa. She later starred in Salvador (2006) and 25 quilts (2008), which earned her the Silver Biznaga Award at the Malaga Festival. In 2012, she starred in El Artista y la modelo by Trueba, which was filmed in French and for which she studied the language to be able to interpret her character, earning her first nomination for Best Leading Actress at Goyas.
She has also participated in television series. She became particularly known for her appearance in Cuéntame cómo pasó (2008-2013) on Televisió Española, where she played Françoise Alcántara. Between 2020 and 2022 she appeared in the Amazon Prime series Madres.
