Vehicle registrations rose 7% in July to 321

Vehicle registrations in July reached 321, a figure that represents an increase of 7.4% compared to July last year. As published by the Department of Statistics yesterday, there were positive variations in the motorcycles and mopeds group (16.9%) and passenger cars (6.4%) during July. Conversely, the trucks and vans group, at 9.8%, presented a negative variation.

In terms of cumulative data, registrations from January to July amounted to 2,219, 10.7% less than the previous period, in which 2,486 vehicles were registered. In this sense, the only category showing a positive variation is trucks and vans, with an increase of 7.9%.

Vehicle registrations over the past 12 months totalled 3,774, down 11.8% from the previous period, when 4,279 vehicles were registered. As before, the only group that had a positive variance during the quarter was trucks and vans (3.4%).

By energy type, diesel vehicles in July recorded a negative variation of 17%. Conversely, gasoline vehicles (eight more), 100% electric vehicles (20 units) and hybrid vehicles (60 units) had positive variations.

On the other hand, the average prices of all fuels increased in July compared to June. The most significant price increase was for diesel, with a 2.8% increase in improved mobility, which recorded an average of 1,372 euros per litre. Mobility costs 2.7% more than the previous month, 1,339 euros per litre of average price, and heating diesel was paid, on average, at 1,019 euros, 1.5% higher. Unleaded 95 octane and unleaded 98 octane petrol rose by 0.5% and were paid to 1,442 and 1,503 euros respectively.
