The new POUP will allow owners to restore buildability.

The Principal Consul of Ordino, Mar Coma, celebrated the good reception of the information day held yesterday in different parts of the parish, which allowed the municipal technicians to present the new POUP news to the citizens. These new developments take the form of returning lands to their owners, transforming those that were declared undevelopable into three different protection zones: Protection Zone 1 (which allows construction on a plot of 3,000 square meters and 2,000 square meters) and the work unit sizes are concentrated), Protection Zone 2 (which allows the owner to build a plot of 1,500 square meters) and Protection Zone 3 (referring to the mountainous areas, where a plot of 6,000 square meters will be allowed at most). “Recovering the ability to build, to be able to build again, has been positive for many owners. The fact of being able to recover all this, which was lost with the previous urban plan, has been very well received. The people have thanked us for it”, emphasized Coma.

“Being able to build again, and regain buildability, has been a positive for many owners.”

“If we see there is a greater need for urban expansion, we can talk about it again.”Mar Coma, Principal Consul of Ordino

The consul major explained that the information day – which lasted all day – was held in different cities, such as Llorts, Les Salines, Serrat, Cortinada, Arans, Ansalonga, Sornas, Ribramonte and Ordino. Coma noted that the most peaceful meeting was the one held in Ribramonte, unlike Ordino, where some citizens disagreed with the proposal of the common council. “Finally, those who were not happy complained. This usually happens,” noted the company leader, who also pointed out that the common was criticized when they decided to modify the POUP. “We were criticized for not having the courage to stop the construction,” Coma added, believing that a “balance” had now been reached. “Let’s not forget that the town planning plans are modified every six years. “If we really see that there is a greater need for urban expansion in six years, we can talk about it again,” he added.

With this modification to POUP, Coma sees a high percentage of the 220 claims the company received during the public exhibition being answered: “60% of the claims were related to the fact of recovering land that could not be recovered.”
