Serie A, dates and calendar: when the tournament starts

The league has formalized a match day schedule for next season: just one midweek and four stops for the national team

It starts on August 20th, in about 50 days, and ends on May 26th. Lega Serie A has set the dates for next season’s championship, which will see the mid-week rounds significantly reduced: just one, on September 27, 2023. Instead, there will be four stops that have decided to make room for the national team matches: September 10, October 15, November 19 and March 24, 2024. As confirmed by the rumors, the 2023-2024 Serie A calendar will not stop during Christmas and New Year’s Eve: the Italian Footballers’ Association has proposed a one-day offload in the space between the post-Super. Cup and the resumption of European cup activity in February. The tour will then be split over two weekends, with five games on one weekend and five games on another. So it would have been ten teams breathing in one period and another ten in another, but there is no confirmation from the official document published today.

When does the Italian Cup start?

Even the National Cup now has its own schedule, with the kick-off date set for Sunday 6 August for the preliminary round. The 32nd Finals will take place on August 13 – the following weekend – after which play will begin in the mid-week rounds: November 1 for Round of 32, then the quadruple date for Round of 16: December 6, December 20, January 10 and 17. On the 31st of the same month there will be the quarter-finals, before the double semi-finals (April 3rd and April 24th): the final on May 15th.
