The dialogue in the recording refers to the clash between Trump and then-Joint Chief of Staff Mark Milley, who opposed the premise of attacking Iran and was frightened by the idea that the billionaire wanted to spark a full-scale conflict. Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Cheung described the recording as “evidence once again that President Trump did nothing wrong”.
