Joe Biden, chilling slip beside Modi: What he does when the anthem begins

Joe Biden still ends up in the crosshairs of the Trumpists for one of his proverbial gaffes. The US president’s latest slip-up occurred during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the White House. When it came time to welcome the distinguished guest to the White House, the national anthem began and Biden raised his right hand over his heart. It is a pity that the anthem was the Indian anthem. Seventeen seconds later, the Democratic president realized his mistake and started moving his hand slowly, as if nothing had happened, making the scene even more embarrassing in the eyes of many commenters who went wild on Twitter.

During the meeting, the United States and India agreed on a “new beginning” and broad cooperation, ranging from defense to space, from manufacturing to technology, and also touching on the subject of Ukraine. Biden, who spoke of “a human tragedy in Ukraine in the aftermath of Russia’s brutal war,” aimed to wrest India from Vladimir Putin’s Russia’s sphere of influence, and at the same time he forged the coalition in order to keep an eye on China.
