On the eve of the playoffs, Rier Venezia announced on Thursday 11 May that it had reached a multi-year agreement with Croatian coach Neven Spahija, who took over from Walter de Rafael during the current season.
«In recent months – comments of the President, Federico Casarin – we have known and appreciated each other, and now we have a common desire to continue what began in February. We are convinced that this relationship will bring mutual satisfaction because we share ideas, methods of work and vision for the future with the coach. We are satisfied because we found this agreement close to qualifying because we believe it will give more solidity and serenity to the whole environment.”
Spahija says he is “grateful for the opportunity to continue working for Reyer. As I said before, I had the desire to stay and find an agreement for which I am really happy and I would like to thank Luigi Brugnaro and President Casarin for their confidence. Being the technical director of Reyer is a great honor for me and I also want to thank the staff and the players: I also had this opportunity thanks to them.”
Official dates, times and TV shows for the first three matches between Riere Venezia and Dinamo Sassari: the first match will take place on Saturday 13 May (7.30pm, Eleven Sports and Eurosport 1), the second match again at Taliercio on Monday 15th May (8:00pm, Eleven Sports and Eurosport 2), then moving to Sardinia with Race 3 on Thursday, May 18 (9pm, Eleven Sports and DMAX). Final race – 4 on the calendar for Saturday 20 May in Sassari, final race – 5 on Tuesday 23 May in Taliercio.
