The average price of light will increase on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Specifically, the average price per megawatt hour (MW/h) will be 107.71 euros. We are talking about an increase of 13.52 euros, considering that the average price on Monday was 94.19 euros.
If we take a look at the data provided byIberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE), a broad increase is clearly observed. In the cheapest segments, prices will not fall below 75 euros per megawatt-hour. In addition, in the most expensive hour of the day, the megawatt-hour will exceed 153 euros.
Light prices today, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, hour by hour
In general, as we mentioned earlier, the hours of this Tuesday will be expensive. The cheapest tariffs range from 75 to 75.93 euros per megawatt hour, which is bad news for pockets.
For example, from 12.00 to 14.00, a megawatt-hour will cost 77.50 euros. It will drop to 75 euros per megawatt-hour between 15.00 and 16.00, the latter being the lowest price for the day.

- 14:00 – 15:00: 75.93 €/MWh.
- 15:00 – 16:00: 75,00 €/MWh.
- 16:00 – 17:00: 75.31 euros/MWh.
When will electricity be more expensive on Tuesday?
As we warn, electricity prices this Tuesday will be generally high. If you had to choose some sections to avoid, these could be the morning sections, where prices will rise significantly. For example, between 00.00 and 09.00, the price of a megawatt hour (MW/h) will not fall below 114 euros.
- 19:00 – 20:00: 123.85 €/MWh.
- 20:00 – 21:00: 125.14 €/MWh.
- 21:00 – 22:00: 153.20 €/MWh.
- 22:00 – 23:00: 123.78 €/MWh.
At night, between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., the cost of a megawatt-hour is 125.14 euros, although it will not be the highest price during the day. The peak will be reached between 21.00 and 22.00, when the cost of a megawatt-hour is 153.20 euros. Finally, between 22.00 and 23.00 the price will be 123.78 euros, and from 23.00 to 00.00 it will drop to 119 euros.
