Cycling is constantly evolving and Pinarello Dogma F2025 It is a bike born in an era where performance levels are rising relentlessly year after year, without forgetting the technical panorama that offers a horizon dominated by new standards backed by scientific evidence.
On the occasion of the official presentation, we had a conversation with Fausto PinarelloPresident of Cicli Pinarello Srl, e Massimo Bolognatoengineer and R&D director of the historic Treviso company founded in 1952 (photo below).
Why a new doctrine? How do you improve a high-end bike? What are the characteristics of the new carbon fiber? Is there a risk that the improvements will not be properly received by enthusiasts? These are some of the questions raised in the new episode of the podcast.
Pinarello Dogma F 2025: For the team, with the team
“Designing the best road bike for Team Ineos.”
This is the goal that has accompanied every Dogma project since 2010. At the forefront is a competitive nuance. Maintaining identity, style, design, colours, finishes and the desire to attack the market is important, but it comes later. This is the company’s interesting point of view.
“You either love Dogma F or you don’t.” – Fausto Pinarello specifies -. We have always believed in the unique bike, which covers 360 degrees. This aspect forces us to find a new meeting point every 2/3 years to meet the needs of runners with different characteristics such as Ghana, Pidcock, Bernal…”.
“It is true that the bike weighs more than other models, but I like to sleep peacefully. (Smiling, Ed.) From the analyses carried out in collaboration with the Ineos team, it is clear that the overall aerodynamic coefficient (CDA, ed.) Over the Grand Tour, it is 0.2% lighter thanks to the new Dogma F. It is a detail that is difficult to measure, but enough according to the technicians and engineers to make a difference. The frame kit with seatpost is 108 grams lighter than the previous version, but what matters most in today’s cycling is aerodynamics.”.
Numbers and investment
second Massimo BolognatoThe analyses developed by the Ineos team and handled by Pinarello’s R&D and Scientific Office are fundamental in the first place to understand where to focus resources, economic and otherwise, in the development phase.
“A thorough study of the aerodynamics was carried out, but the goal was not to create an aerodynamic bike. Together with the British team, we defined the direction, and then internally we had to balance the different parameters to respond to different variables such as weight. The principle is: save energy to provide more watts at the crucial moment of the race..
In collaboration with Massimo, we also explored the Pinarello Dogma F 2025’s plating process, which uses Torayca M40X Carbon Fiber. A compound used for the first time in the Treviso brand production series.
