Harlem native Logan Lawson will play for the USA in Italy

Roscoe, Illinois. (WTVO/WQRV) – Harlem High School linebacker Logan Lawson has been selected to play for his country. He will dress for the US Soccer Worldwide 19U team in Italy this April.
The team will face the club’s 19U team and then play a full match in Milan against the Italian national team. Lawson was one of 30 players selected to Team USA.
“I only got out of the country once,” Lawson said. “It’s a new experience and to be able to play against a club team, I think it would be a great opportunity. We start in Rome and then tour Italy and go from there. We’ll go to four or five different places.
American Football Global was founded to bring American football to the rest of the world and provide a unique experience for young people like Lawson.
Lawson had 75 tackles with Harlem last fall, including 30 for loss and two sacks. Intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble. Harlem helped make school history by helping the Huskies reach the third round of the IHSA playoffs for the first time.
