(ANSA) – ROME, Sept. 24 – No story in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the 14th edition of the Presidents Cup. After the double “four-ball” matches, the United States consolidated its supremacy over the international team (with the exception of European players). The Stars and Stripes team led by Davis Love III has an 8-2 lead over Trevor Immelman’s team.
The relentless duo of Justin Thomas/Jordan Spieth, is able to stop (by a score of 2 & 1) the Adam Scott/Cameron Davis rivalry. Also success for Patrick Cantlay / Xander Schauffele (3 & 2 on Hideki Matsuyama and Tom Kim) and Billy Horschel / Max Homa (1 on Corey Conners / Taylor Pendrith).
While the match between Scotty Scheffler / Sam Burns and Songjay M / Sebastian Munoz ended in a draw, as well as the match between Kevin Kesner / Cameron Young and Mito Pereira / Christian Bezudenhout.
There is still no victory for the world number 1 Schaeffler.
This, so far, is the only drawback of the US team, which is seeking a ninth consecutive win in the competition. (Dealing).
