England and Italy face each other for the 32nd time in their history: the previous matches were equal, with each having won 11 and drawn 9.
Italy are playing for the eighth time at Wembley where they have so far won only twice, both 1-0: on 14 November 1973, Capello’s goal gave the Azzurri their first victory at the English Masters, Zola’s victory in 24 years. Later (February 12, 1997) he decided that the challenge was valid for the France 98 World Cup qualifiers.
The last live match was last March 23 at the Maradona Stadium in Naples, valid for Euro 2024 qualifiers: the English won 2-1.
The last precedent played in England was a 0-0 draw at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton: the match, played on 11 June 2022, was valid for the United Nations League.
The memory of the last match played by the national team at Wembley Stadium, on July 11, 2021 in the Euro 2020 final, is certainly more pleasant: Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri won on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the 120th minute and climbed to the roof of Europe.

Euro 2024 qualifiers, how do you reach the final stage?
there Germany It is the only country actually qualified to be the host country. there Russia Excluded for political reasons. Accordingly, 53 teams will participate in the qualifiers, divided into 10 groups. Of these teams, seven consist of 5 national teams, and the other three consist of 6 national teams. The top two teams in each group directly advance to the final stage of the competition.
garlic Playoffs Instead, 12 teams will enter and compete for the last 3 vacant spots. The admission mechanism for the qualifiers is complex. The four winners from each group of Leagues A, B and C of the 2022/23 Nations League enter this stage. If they do gain a Euro 2024 pass, they will leave field in the qualifiers to the best non-qualified team from the same Nations League. If fewer than 4 teams from a league qualify for the playoffs, the first free spot will be left to the best winner between the two League D groups and the remainder to the best teams in the overall Nations League standings (not yet in the playoffs).
