Barcelona City Council sets itself the challenge that no place remains empty in its markets. The challenge seems bold, considering that the last attempt at the end of 2023 to close the loopholes ended with the victory of only eight institutions out of 28 on offer. The latest hole does not diminish the ambition of the auction now on the bulletin board, with Barcelona’s Municipal Market Institute offering to compete all abandoned buildings available to reopen in the city’s food courts. In total, there are 104 stops to find the best bidder.
