The average price of light will fall further this Sunday, August 25, 2024. Specifically, the average price of a megawatt hour (MW/h) will be 31.20 euros. We are talking about a decrease of 29.12 euros, considering that the average price on Saturday was 60.32 euros.
If we take a look at the data provided byIberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE), this decrease is clearly noticeable. In some sections, rates will drop to negative figures per megawatt-hour. And of course, the most expensive hour of the day will rise again to more than 100 euros.

However, the good news is that most of the useful hours of the day will be relatively cheap. These costs will range between -0.95 and 0 euros per megawatt hour (MW/h). This is great news for all families who have thought about, for example, running a washing machine.
In this way, from 09.00 to 10.00 MWh will cost 0 euros, dropping to -0.72 euros per MWh between 10.00 and 11.00. Between 11.00 and 12.00, the price will be the lowest of the day: -0.95 euros per MWh. Finally, from 12.00 to 13.00 MWh will cost -0.66 euros.

- 10:00 – 11:00: -0.72 EUR/MWh.
- 11:00 – 12:00: -0.95 EUR/MWh.
- 12:00 – 13:00: -0.66 EUR/MWh.
When will electricity be more expensive on Sunday?
As for those hours when light is more expensive, you should be especially careful at night. These ranges usually coincide with higher electricity consumption, and therefore light is also more expensive. For example, a megawatt hour (MW/h) will not fall below 70 euros overnight.
In this way, from 20.00 to 21.00, a megawatt-hour will cost 94.02 euros, although it will not be the highest rate of the day. We find this from 21.00 to 22.00, when a megawatt-hour will cost 109.91 euros. Finally, from 22.00 to 23.00 a megawatt-hour will cost 102.88 euros, and from 23.00 to 00.00 it will cost 93.53 euros.
