Part of a community Xbox didn’t take well to the announcement of a PlayStation 5 version of Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle And Microsoft’s big push into multiplatform was seen at Gamescom 2024. It’s been in the air for months, if not years, but some just can’t accept it.
Even those who were happy with the arrival of exclusives like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves on PS5 ended up being disappointed, since the distance between release dates here is really short. Moreover, this new policy coincides with an increase in Game Pass prices, with some exclusives that will no longer arrive on the service immediately, at least for subscribers in the cheaper range.
confusion
in Topic on Reddit Regarding the state of Xbox exclusives, fans have expressed their disappointment and questioned the reasons for continuing to own an Xbox.
“Say what you want about Xbox, but the fact is PlayStation doesn’t put their first games on Xbox,” one fan said. “They also make these announcements right after they raise the price of Game Pass… again. I think the Xbox brand is about to fall off the radar in the next few years. This disgusts me because I’ve been a huge fan and supporter of the brand since the Xbox 360.”
“I bought a PS5 because I wanted to play FF7 Rebirth, FF16, Stellar Blade, Spider-Man 2, HoyoVerse, etc,” one fan explained. “If they were all on Xbox I wouldn’t have bought a PS5. The exclusives made me buy the console. End of story. If every Xbox game eventually came to PlayStation, I wouldn’t need my Xbox anymore. My problem is that I’ve been an Xbox fan since the beginning and I want to continue to be one, but they’re making it so difficult.”
Unfortunately, Microsoft is creating a lot of confusion among fans. Taking action on a case-by-case basis has generated a great deal of uncertainty. On what will remain exclusive and what will not, given that Indiana Jones himself was considered exclusive almost until its launch. Furthermore, with this announcement, the idea of only older games coming to PS5 also disappears.
