(ANSA) – NEW YORK, January 12 – Donald Trump’s third run for the White House is dormant for the time being, but names are starting to crop up for the former US president’s virtual ticket to the upcoming election. According to sources close to the businessman and Republican strategist, the only common denominator is that the potential running mate candidates are all women. Among the names circulating are those of Donald loyalists like New York Reps. Elise Stefanik and Georgia Marjorie Taylor Greene (close to the QAnon conspiracy movement), along with an unlikely third contender: Fox News collaborator and former Democratic (since 2022 independent) Tulsi Gabbard.
For a GOP strategist, if Trump chose Gabbard, it would be like Joe Biden ditching incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris in favor of a ticket with former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney (daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and Trump’s sworn enemy). Whereas Green, described by a source close to the former commander-in-chief as “Trump on his heels,” could take the risk of overpowering the businessman. Among the possible candidates, according to many observers, there are also the governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem and the (defeated) candidate governor of Arizona Kari Lake. (Dealing).
