The Houston Rockets' GM Daryl Morey's getting a lot of criticism for losing out during NBA Free Agency, but maybe Houston's not in such bad shape.
Chandler Parsons will now be a Dallas Maverick after the Houston Rockets failed to match his offer, compounding a difficult offseason for Daryl Morey and Co.
From the moment LeBron James made his decision to return to Cleveland, nothing in NBA free agency went as planned. Oh, what might have been.
Recent Rockets history isn't that great when the team wins 54+ games, and 2014 was no exception. Today we remember the Houston Rockets.
Out of the 30 teams in the Association, less than a handful run the pick-and-roll as well as the Houston Rockets do. Just in case anyone needed more convincing, Chris Paul supplied it on Monday night – he is the best point guard in the NBA. Paul led the Los Angeles Clippers to a 137-118 stomping over the Houston Rockets, dropping 23 points and dishing out 17 assists. He toyed with the defense of Jeremy Lin, making Linsanity appear as a high school hooper.
Ready for some crazy statistics? Paul now has seventeen career 23-point, 17-assist games. The rest of the NBA has seventeen as well – in the last ten years. He also currently has 97 14-assist games, first among active players. The six-time All-Star boasts 51 15-point, 15-assist games. Among active players, only Steve Nash, with 59, has more.
Entering his third season in Los Angeles, the time for CP3 to win is now. LA has a championship-caliber lineup and as long as Paul continues to put up MVP-type numbers, there is no reason to think that the Clippers can’t make a run at the Western Conference Championship and even the Finals.
