Mike Miller only joined the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer but is already feeling Ohio’s love for him as the Mentor, Ohio location of the burger chain, BurgerFi, has honored Miller by naming a burger after him. From the News Herald:
The “Mike Miller 3 Point Special” consists of one natural Angus patty, one Veggie patty and one 28-day dry-aged ground brisket patty with triple white cheddar cheese, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and BurgerFi Sauce on a multigrain bun. It will cost $9.99.
Kudos to BurgerFi for paying homage to Miller’s penchant for 3-point shooting by having three different pattys on the burger. The Veggie patty is an interesting twist but it is surrounded by meat, topped with cheese and slathered in sauce so you may not even be able to taste it. Miller actually may have an inside source to get this sort of recognition. With his brother, Miller co-owns a BurgerFi located in Auburn, Alabama. Miller told the Auburn Undercover why he opened a BurgerFi in Auburn:
““What better place than a college-crazy place like Auburn? Being here, getting to know the place while my brother was here, it’s a perfect fit. I’ve been here playing against Auburn and I’ve been here while my brother was coaching. I see the quality of people here and what we can do here. We love the idea. We’ve talked about it, and what we’ve really focused in on with BurgerFi is serving the people and all the football fans in the fall. What goes better with football than burgers? Our whole focus is serving the people, and we expect great things.”
BurgerFi is not just using Miller’s name to drive up burger sales as they are also donating money from sales of the burger to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio:
As the above image shows, Miller will be at the Mentor BurgerFi this Friday to “christen” his burger. Breaking a champagne bottle on the burger will probably make it all soggy, so let’s hope that Miller will christen his burger by shooting the wrapper into the garbage like the 3-point marksman that he is.
