Matt Bonner Is Living The Good Life, Doesn’t Wait For Domino’s Discounts Anymore

It has been a good summer for Matt Bonner. Not only did he win an NBA championship with the San Antonio Spurs (the second of his career), he signed a contract worth $1.4 million that will keep him on the team for at least one more season. And as a result of both of those — newfound fame and job security — he’s letting his hair down and starting to live a little more of a carefree life.

In a recent interview with Spurs Nation, Bonner said that the rumors of him not “splurging” are far overblown. Not only does he own an impala, he eats at any restaurant he wants now and he doesn’t even wait for Domino’s 10:00 PM discounts.

I don’t even understand when people say that because to me, I do splurge. My Impala is the LTZ top trim model. I’ll eat at any restaurant I want now. In the past, I would always wait until 10 o’clock so I could get the Domino’s late night deal. But now, if I want pizza, I’ll go to a gourmet pizza place at 4 o’clock if I feel like it. To me, that’s splurging.

In the same interview, Bonner said that he understands he’s no longer the Spurs’ number one priority, everyone cheers him on when he yells at Marco Belinelli, and that it’s too soon to say that Becky Hammon is a San Antonio legend like he is.

Basically, Matt Bonner is the best.
