Brandon Jennings Is Dropping A Single…Wait, No He Isn’t

The Detroit Pistons’ Brandon Jennings tweeted last night that he’s set to join the long line of professional athletes, ranging from Deion Sanders, Kobe Bryant to Tony Parker, who thought it was a good idea to release a single, only to find out that it is a terrible idea.

He didn’t really tweet that. He just said that his single was coming soon.

It didn’t take Jennings long to leak the date, title and cover of his single, either. It Hurts and all its corniness from Watch Out Records was set to drop on August 18th. Get a piece of paper! Get your phone! Set a reminder! That’s, like, soon!

And an EP was soon to follow! A little over a month following his single release, Turn Down The Gas would hit the iTunes store.

But then, before we could all look around and realise we were shoulder deep in quicksand, Jennings posted a fake link to his song (which I sadly clicked on with too much excitement) and a new picture.

And then, if that wasn’t obvious enough, he made it clear by saying, basically: IT’S ALL A JOKE, PEOPLE. CALM DOWN.

It’s August. Everything in the basketball world has slowed down. You’re bored. I’m bored. Brandon Jennings is bored. And this is what happens when people have too much time on their hands and Paint or Photoshop just a few clicks away.

Please, basketball, come back into our lives. We need you more than ever.
