The Thunder defeated the Grizzlies 104-84 on Thursday night, picking up the must-win in Memphis and forcing Game 7. Aside from Kevin Durant‘s impressive 36-point performance, center Steven Adams‘ game on the defensive end stood out. The rookie played 20 minutes, shooting just two times while grabbing three rebounds. Yet, it was his ability to swat shots that allowed him to positively impact the game for Oklahoma City.
Adams blocked five shot attempts, making for some fun highlights:
The one swat that opened up our eyes the most came in the fourth quarter. Tony Allen drove into the lane and attemped to hit a layup, but Adams’ 7-5 wingspan allowed him to slam the ball against the backboard. The Thunder retrieved the rock and Durant finished the play with a slam.
