Days ago we unfortunately learned that beloved TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager has Leukemia. The diagnosis means that Sager will not be covering the playoffs.
In TNT’s first game today, the matchup featured the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks. No Sager meant no Sager-Gregg Popovich interview, which had become must-see TV over the years. And so the network sent Sager’s son in his place, and Popovich took a chance to wish Sager well.

Popovich has a gruff demeanor on the sideline and can be trite and condescending at times to sideline reporters, but from all accounts is truly one of the league’s best people.
This was a classy move by Pop, and we here at the Skyhook would like to join in wishing Sager a speedy recovery.
