Westbrook Will Play Tuesday Night, Looks to “Kill”

Russell Westbrook will be in uniform on Tuesday night as the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Mavericks in Dallas, and he appears to be ready to go.

After spraining his knee on Friday against the Toronto Raptors, Westbrook sat out Monday night’s win over the Denver Nuggets. The superstar guard has endured three knee surgeries since colliding with Patrick Beverly of the Houston Rockets in last year’s playoffs, and has played in just 37 of his team’s 70 games this season.

Despite his absence, however, the Thunder – led by Kevin Durant – have an impressive record of 52-18 and own the Western Conference’s two-seed. They sit just two games behind the San Antonio Spurs for first-place and ultimately, home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. Yet, to extend their season during May and June, Westbrook’s health is imperative.
