Robin Lopez is one of the most interesting players in the NBA. For one, he’s got kooky hair. Everyone loves kooky, frizzy hair. Secondly, he’s that guy who does all the dirty work on the court, which you can only tip your hat to. Thirdly, he once bought a pair of Air McFlys that cost him a whopping $20,000 because, well, I guess he loves Back To The Future. And finally, he’s an avid comic book reader, just like his brother.
Because of his love for comic books, Lopez was named ambassador for the Wizard World Portland Comic Con that took place two weeks ago, which he was very excited about. While he was there, he got to meet the creators of some of his favorite comic’s and as a thank you, he handed out personalised Portland Trail Blazers jerseys to a select few, like Stan Lee (creator of Spiderman), Adam West and Burt Ward (the original Batman and Robin) and Peter Mayhew (more famously known as Chewbacca).
But the most interesting person he met up with was another well known Star Wars actor, Billy Dee Williams, who played the role of Baron Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of the Jedi. If you don’t know who I’m talking about, here he is in all his glory:
Remember him? Yeah. I thought so. Now back to the jersey exchange.
Luckily for all of us, someone got a picture of the two at the event and it’s pretty great.
It may be a couple of sizes too big, but, hey, no worries.
