Clippers Look to Deal Jared Dudley

The Los Angeles Clippers currently lead the Pacific Division with a record of 34-17 in the Western Conference. A large part of their success this season is due to the play of guards Jamal Crawford and J.J. Redick. To go along with those two wingmen, who average upwards of 15 points per game, the Clippers also have Hedo Turkoglu, Sasha Vujacic and Jared Dudley. 5 players with essentially the same set of skills is just too much for one team, which is why Los Angeles is seeking to deal one of their guards. Jared Dudley appears to be the odd man out.

As Marc Stein of ESPN reported on early Wednesday morning, Doc Rivers and the Clippers are hoping to trade Dudley in exchange for more of a supporting cast.

At the age of 28, Dudley certainly still has game left. He’s a quality teammate, plays solid defense and can knock down three-pointers. There is just too much of a logjam on the Clippers’ roster.

In 51 games this season, Dudley is averaging 7.9 points on 44.9 percent shooting from the field, while grabbing down 2.1 rebounds in just under 27 minutes per contest.

Along with Evan Turner, Francisco Garcia and Ben Gordon – among many others – add Dudley to the list of players who may be moved before the February 20 deadline.
