Tonight marks the night we find out who the All-Star reserves are going to be for both the Eastern and Western Conference teams ,but I think the highlight for me is the match-up between the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors. Most basketball fans will remember the course of events that took place on Christmas night when these two teams met and trust me, Blake Griffin remembers it even more.
The Warriors come into the game tonight after losing a close game at home against the Washington Wizards. It was poor shooting down the stretch and it cost them the game. Tonight I feel with the last game of the season at Oracle Arena against the Clippers, the team just might get a jolt from the fans; we should be in for a great game. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are shooting at high percentages from the field and 3-point land, while Curry is averaging more than 9 assists per game. The key for the Warriors to win the game tonight will be Andrew Bogut and the interior defense. They have to rebound and also make Blake Griffin work for every shot he gets inside.
The Clippers have been rolling lately and despite a few hang ups, they finished their ‘Grammy’ road trip at 5-2, after the win in Milwaukee against the Bucks on Monday night. They are missing the presence of Chris Paul, but Griffin and Jamal Crawford have certainly stepped up. Griffin has improved his game tremendously over the last few weeks. The past few season,s the chatter has been on whether or not Blake is ‘soft’. I believe this season he is starting to shake off those notions.
The Pick: Tonight’s game will be the best game on tap and any basketball fan will be anxious to watch it. With the game in Oracle arena, I would normally pick the Warriors to win, but I believe even with the crowd and atmosphere, the Clippers will pull out the victory. They still have Christmas night in the back of their minds and I feel this time, with a healthy J.J. Redick back in the lineup, things will be a little different. Clippers 108 – Warriors 103.
