Nate Robinson And Friends Play American Football With A Pineapple

It’s Super Bowl week, everyone! On Sunday, the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks will face off at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to determine a champion for the 2013-2014 NFL season.

If you’re not excited, I can tell you one person who is: Nate Robinson. The Seattle native has made his allegiance pretty clear from the get-go and despite playing for the Nuggets – who are obviously stationed in Denver – he’s sticking with his hometown team.

Seeing as this is only the second time in franchise history that the Seahawks have made it to the Super Bowl, Nate has a good reason to be excited. The thing is, with five days to go until the big event, he’s struggling to keep all that excitement bottled up.

Last night on Instagram, he posted videos from his #GroceryStorePineappleFootballLeague, which is pretty self explanatory. In it, Nate acted as Peyton Manning, while his buddies did their best Eric Decker and Richard Sherman impressions. But let’s take a step back, here, so that I can take you through the steps of setting up your own league.

First, a pineapple has to be purchased. Obviously you have to make sure that it meets the #GSPFL standards, but you’ll be happy to know that there is an easy way to test it out. All you’ve got to do is, well, throw it. If it explodes when it hits the floor, go grab another one. If it doesn’t, it’s perfect.

Then, you’ve got to find some people to play with you. Luckily for Nate, he’s got his right hand man, Tee Jay Regan, and some fellow who looks like Kenneth Faried. The key here is to have at least three people – one quarterback, one receiver and one defender.

All that is left for you to have your own #GSPFL is a venue to play and the parking lot of a grocery store is perfect for that. With those three pieces in play, you’re good to go and it should look a little something like this:

And, voilà! There you have it. Your very own #GSPFL. Simple, right?
