Like a Bosh: Thoughts on the NBA for 1/24/14

  • Chris Bosh dropped 31 points last night, helping the Heat to a win over the Lakers. It was the second time this year Bosh has put up 30 or more points, the other coming when he scored 37 on the Blazers a month ago. While clearly being the third guy in the Heat’s “big three,” Bosh is extremely reliable. He puts up 17 and 7 a night, has turned into a rather reliable three-point shooter, and rarely, if ever, misses games due to injury. He doesn’t get talked about nearly as much as LeBron or Wade, but Bosh is extremely vital to Miami’s success.

  • Sticking with the Heat-Lakers game, Nick Young had a solid night off the bench, scoring 19 points. Plus, he debuted Kobe Bryant’s new sneaker. The gold and black Kobe 9’s looked pretty sharp.

  • One final note: I really like the jerseys the Heat wore last night. The red and black numbers and lettering looked nice. The flame trailing off of the “T” is a nice touch as well.

  • Moving on to the other game on the night, the Blazers knocked off the Nuggets. LaMarcus Aldridge continued his impressive season, scoring a career-high 44 points. He shot 15-29 while also grabbing 13 rebounds and handing out 5 assists. If it weren’t for LeBron and Durant, Aldridge would have a shout at being the MVP.

  • Damian Lillard didn’t have a great night last night, but he did do this.

  • I’ll leave you today with this. As Skeets would say, “Embrace the day, people!”
