2014 NBA All-Star Game Starters Announced

The 2014 NBA All-Star game is just weeks away, and earlier tonight the starters were announced for the game.

For the East, we have leading vote getter, LeBron James, along with Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Paul George, and Kyrie Irving.

Meanwhile, out West we have the “Slim Reaper,” Kevin Durant, as well as Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Kobe Bryant, and Stephen Curry.

This year was the first time the “center” position was removed from the ballot, leaving Roy Hibbert and Dwight Howard out of the starting lineup. Both players are likely to make it as a reserve, however.

After being snubbed last year, Curry gets the start in what will be his first All-Star appearance.

For the sixteenth year in a row, Kobe Bryant has been named to the team. Unfortunately, he is still recovering from the fractured bone in his leg and will not play in the game. He’s insisted that he “isn’t worthy” of the honor.

All-Star weekend is February 14-16 down in New Orleans, with the game taking place on Sunday.
