The Brooklyn Nets are tired.
After Friday night’s thrilling 104-95 double overtime victory against the Miami Heat, four of Brooklyn’s five starters played a season-high in minutes – Shaun Livingston (career-high 51 minutes), Joe Johnson (46), Paul Pierce (44) and Kevin Garnett (36). The team may be short-handed on Saturday night versus the Raptors in Toronto.
As an extra reinforcement off the bench, the Nets have recalled Tornike “Toko” Shengelia from the Springfield Armor of the NBA Developmental League.
In his most recent two-game stint with the Armor, the 22-year-old averaged 9.5 points, 5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 25 minutes per game at the D-League Showcase in Reno, Nevada.
The forward has appeared in 15 games with the Nets, averaging 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in just over 8 minutes per game.
