After getting benched in the entire fourth quarter in Sunday’s night loss against the Golden State Warriors, Marcin Gortat responded with a double double of 18 points and 13 rebounds in last night’s 14 point Washington Wizards victory against the Charlotte Bobcats. Gortat who is affectionally known as “The Polish Hammer”, received a pre-game boost from the students of the Polish School of Charlotte, who were in attendance for Polish Heritage Night.

It seems like this Polish Heritage Night went a lot better than the last one involving Gortat as that happened after he was traded from the Phoenix Suns. Gortat is the only Polish-born player currently in the NBA and as you can tell these children really look up to him:
