Game of the Night: Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Philadelphia 76ers

With only three games on the schedule tonight, there wasn’t too many games to choose from for Game of the Night. It made it easy then, to pick the matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers.

Coming off of a huge road win in Portland over the Trail Blazers, the Sixers are looking to extend their four game winning streak (the longest win streak in the Eastern Conference).

Thaddeus Young, who scored 30 points in that win over the Blazers, has been playing excellent ball for the Sixers and was just named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his play last week. He’ll have a tough matchup tonight going against Kevin Love.

For as well as Young has been playing this campaign, Love has been even better, coming into tonight with averages of 26.4 points (2nd in the league) and 13.5 rebounds (1st in the league) a night.

Both of these guys can fill it up, and whoever gets the better of the matchup will give his team a great chance to get a win. Make sure to keep an eye on those two as they go at it tonight.

The Pick: This is a big game for both teams, as they fight for playoff spots in their respective conferences. The Sixers come into tonight just one and a half games out of the eighth seed in the East, while the Timberwolves are currently two and a half games out in the West. I think the T’Wolves end up coming away with this one and ending the Sixers win streak thanks to a big night from Love.
