Reports are emerging that the Boston Celtics have agreed on a trade to acquire Memphis Grizzlies guard Jerryd Bayless in exchange for Courtney Lee.
Trade call on Boston's looming acquisition of Jerryd Bayless for Courtney Lee, I'm told, is being scheduled for Monday. Deal is happening

Due to the trade exceptions on both sides, the contracts were able to work in a straight up swap. The rebuilding Celtics were looking to deal Lee and his two-year, $11 million contract. Bayless’s contract expires at the end of the season and is just for $3.1 million, allowing Boston to clear up cap space at the end of the season.
Bayless has been struggling in his second season with the Grizzlies. The 25-year-old is averaging 8 points on 37.1 percent, while dishing out 2 assists and grabbing down 1.9 rebounds per contest – all numbers down from last year.
Memphis, however, did receive an improved three-point threat.
Lee is averaging 7.4 points through 30 games this season, shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 44.2 percent from beyond the arc. He is expected to be pulled prior to Boston’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night.
The trade makes sense for both teams – though the Celtics take a small step back for the remainder of this season, it will certainly help them out long term while the playoff hopeful Grizzlies get an improved guard off the bench.
