Chris Paul Out 3-5 Weeks With Separated Shoulder

The season of injuries continues, as we’ve just gotten word that Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul will be out 3-5 weeks with a separated shoulder.

Here is video of the play. Paul landed hard on his right shoulder after colliding hard with Monta Ellis.

Paul is the latest star to suffer a long term injury this year, joining the likes of Derrick Rose, Marc Gasol, Andre Iguodala, Anthony Davis, Kobe Bryant, Tyson Chandler and J.J. Redick among others.

Luckily for the Clippers, Paul will be back in time for the playoff push, and the team is good enough to stay in the picture until he returns.

It will, however, most likely cause them to fall in the standings. And in the Western Conference, that could mean a much more difficult first round playoff matchup.

Darren Collison – who has averaged 8 points and 2 assists in 18 minutes a night this year – figures to take over the starting role in Paul’s absence.
