Yeah, you read that headline right. The Pass of the Night came from Jordan Crawford. In fact, it wasn’t just one pass. He had a couple pretty feeds.
Last night the Boston Celtics welcomed the Los Angeles Clippers to town. Returning for the first time since he left this summer was Doc Rivers. In between the 1st and 2nd quarters, Rivers received a standing ovation as the team played a tribute video on the jumbotron. After the game, Rivers got rather emotional when discussing his time in Boston.
But back to the game. After hanging right with the Clippers for nearly the whole game, the Celtics ran out of gas in the final minutes, and the Clippers – thanks to two huge threes from Jamal Crawford – escaped with a 96-88 victory.
Leading the way in defeat for the Celtics were Jeff Green and Jordan Crawford. Green had 29 points, while Crawford added 20 of his own, as well as dishing out 9 assists.
Two, in particular, stood out from the rest, and earned Steez his second appearance on Pass of the Night.
First, there was his feed to Brandon Bass from the opening minutes of the game. After shaking Willie Green with a nasty crossover, Crawford drove into the lane and when Blake Griffin stepped out to meet him, found Brandon Bass with a no-look drop off.
A bit later in the 1st quarter, Crawford picked up a loose ball and started up the court. Running out ahead of him was Avery Bradley, and Steez lifted a lob up to his backcourt mate, which Bradley snatched out of the air with one hand and slammed home.
