It’s been a bit since these two connected for a play worthy of Pass of the Night. But last night they made sure they were taking home the honors.
After winning 10 in a row, the Heat stumbled in their last two outings, falling to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday and the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. Last night, they continued their midwestern road trip with a visit to the Target Center in Minneapolis to take on the Timberwolves.
It was the first game in nearly a week for the Wolves, who had their Wednesday match-up with the San Antonio Spurs in Mexico City postponed because of a fire in the arena. They were also looking to get back on the winning path after falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their last game.
In the end, however, it was LeBron and company who got back on track with a blowout 103-82 win. LeBron nearly claimed a triple double, finishing 21 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Wade, meanwhile, added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
The most impressive of those feeds went to LeBron late in the 3rd quarter.
After LeBron knocked the ball out of Corey Brewer’s hands, Chris Bosh picked up the loose ball and threw an outlet pass up to LeBron who had leaked out. Running ahead with him was Wade, and LeBron immediately touch passed it over to his teammate. Wade then lobbed it up off the backboard and LeBron came through with the big dunk.
