With nine games on the docket, there are a lot of potential choices for Game of the Night. But there could be any number of games on the schedule and the choice would still be the same. Tonight’s Game of the Night is most definitely the Indiana Pacers vs. San Antonio Spurs.
We should be in for a treat with this one, as it features two of the best teams in the league, one from the East and one from the West.
At 17-2, the Pacers hold the best record in the league. It’s a big night for the Pacers, who will try to break their cold streak in San Antonio. From ESPN,
The Pacers, who have lost 11 in a row in San Antonio and gone 1-14 there since Duncan was drafted first overall in 1997, visit the Spurs in a meeting of two of the league’s top teams.
Leading the way this year has been Paul George, who just recently posted a career-high night against the Portland Trail Blazers, scoring 43 points in a loss.
As for the Spurs, they will be looking to keep pace with those Trail Blazers at the top of the Western Conference. Tony Parker has been great as always for the Spurs this year, averaging over 18 points and 6 assists a night.
The Pick: On paper, this looks like it should be a great match-up. We’ve got Paul George vs. Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan vs. David West/Roy Hibbert. With two of the best defenses in the league facing off, I’ll say Spurs win 97-92.
