ICYMI: Suggested Basketball Reading From Across the Web

Sunday, the first of December was a very bittersweet day in the NBA. On the one hand, we saw a number of great games and incredible individual performances. Paul George had 27 points as the Pacers got a roadkill over the Los Angeles Clippers. Then there was Andre Drummond’s 31 point, 19 rebound performance in Detroit’s win over Philadelphia. Steph Curry dropped 36 and handed out 10 assists in the Warriors 115-113 win over the Kings. And last, but certainly not least, Kevin Durant put up a triple double – 32 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists – in the Thunder’s win over the Timberwolves. But we also unfortunately saw another prominent name added to the long term injury list: Anthony Davis. The Pelicans’ big man suffered a broken hand in the team’s win over the Knicks.

Only five games set for tonight, but we do get an awesome Pacers vs. Trail Blazers late at night. As you kill sometime before checking out one or more of the games tonight, here are some words you may like to read.

Pelicans 103, Knicks 99: By Jim Cavan (@JPCavan)

I usually don’t put game recaps in the suggested readings, because most of the time their pretty boring and you could just go look at the box scores and get an idea of how things went. But this recap from Jim Cavan of ESPN True Hoop’s KnickerBlogger is anything but boring.

Tayshaun Prince: Time to Get Offensive: By Joe Mullinax (@joemullinax)

With the unfortunate injury to Marc Gasol, a number of Grizzlies will have to step up to try and replicate some of his production in order to keep this team in the playoff picture. One of those players is veteran swingman, Tayshaun Prince. Over at SB Nation’s Grizzly Bear Blues, Joe Mullinax wrote about a few ways Prince can step up his game on the offensive end.
