Earlier tonight, the Orlando Magic easily took care of business in Atlanta, defeating the Hawks 109-92.
Mid-way through the fourth quarter, the Magic were well on their way to victory, when Victor Oladipo decided to put an exclamation mark on the performance.
After crossing over Jeff Teague up top, the Magic rookie drove to the basket. He spotted an opening, but Al Horford and Paul Millsap quickly arrived to defend the rim. But it was of no matter to Oladipo, who rose above their outstretched arms and threw down a nasty, one-handed slam.
Every time there’s a big dunk, there will always be those who want to claim it as the “dunk of the year.” But usually, it’s just recency bias.
This effort from Oladipo, however, truly deserves to be in the conversation for dunk of the year when the time comes.
